This is the second of a series of articles I am writing to provide some coverage of the highlights of the teachings that came forth at the MorningStar retreat held last May. The source for these articles is taken from my notes. Although I strive for accuracy, please note that this is not the same as hearing directly from the speakers. If you would like to order the teachings of the retreat on CD or DVD, please call MorningStar at 1-800- 542-0278. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed in your investment.
God loves the Pig Pen People
In our last article, I shared that the Lord told Bob that he would find God’s treasure chest in a shed located in a pig pen. Bob found the chest and opened it up to find it contained hundreds of gold coins. The chest represents the Father’s chest, wherein lies His heart. The gold coins are the redeemed of the Lord. His heart in this hour is for the prodigal sons. The pig pen represents the prodigal sons that are lost in the mire of the world wallowing in sin, shame and self pity.
We know from the parable of the prodigal son that the Father so loved His son that as the prodigal son was on his way home, his Father ran out to meet him. He not only embraced and forgave him, but he restored him to a place of prominence in His household. Such is the heart of God. God loves the pig pen people and that is where you will find His heart. God is a family man who loves His sons and daughters.
The year 2009 is the year to plow the pig pen! In other words, the Lord wants us to reach out in the community with His heart to restore the fallen and redeem the lost. The first harvest will be those who return to the Lord. They in turn will become laborers that will become the harvesters of the great harvest.
The year 2010 is the year to sow seeds by equipping, teaching and discipling converts to prepare them as laborer for the next harvest. In 2011, we will reap what we have sown in 2010. It will be those that come in from the first harvest in 2009/2010 that we have equipped that will bring in the main harvest. It will be those who come out of the pig pen that will become some of the greatest harvesters that the world has ever seen. The encouragement is that if we will invest in the lives of others, we will reap a great harvest in the year 2011. We reap what we sow.
While many are waiting for others to come into the church, the Lord wants us to be the church and minister the Kingdom of God with power and demonstration in the community. We are called to manifest the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven within our sphere of influence. Whether you are a school teacher, banker, artist, cook or politician, you are strategically placed by the Lord to make a spiritual difference in the life of your community. I know a number of School teachers that are called “pastors” by their students because they are mentoring the youth for Christ in the way of life.
The year 2012 is the year that the apostolic government of the Church will be in place with Christ functioning as its head. Many of the people that come out of the pig pen will become part of the Lord’s church government in 2011-2012. Historically, God does not use the polished, the clergy, or the most educated, to advance the Kingdom of God or to lead a movement. It will be those like Peter, Paul and Mary, that the Lord will use to do great things. They are now being groomed by the Lord for this great task.
The Release of Anointed Apostles
As the apostolic government of Christ is established in the church, the Lord will release new keys of the Kingdom that will launch the church forward with Kingdom authority. Creative miracles, healings, signs and wonders will be witnessed as it was in the book of Acts that will confirm the apostolic government of Christ in the Church;
And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and great grace was upon them all (Acts 4:33).
And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch – Acts 5:12)
The ministry of the apostles often took them from home to home as well as in the parks, amphitheater and streets of a city. Solomon’s Porch was a large porch located in front of Solomon’s Temple. It was often used as an outdoor gathering place for fellowship. Jesus often went there as well as the apostles to minister to the people.
When you read the book of Acts, what you will notice is that the apostles performed many signs and wonders in the community among the people. In other words, their ministry was not just released on Sunday morning during a special church service or during a major conference, but around the clock everywhere they went. The power of the apostles was so great, that the people brought the sick into the streets in hopes that the shadow of Peter might overshadow them.
Let’s look at this in contemporary terms. Picture Main Street in the town where you live. On any given day as you drive through town you find the streets lined with the beds of those who were in the hospital, in hopes that the shadow of an apostle of Christ might overshadow them and heal them. Like the book of Acts, we will see this take place again. What the Lord is about to do is far superior than we can conceive at this time. Creative miracles and healing will be commonplace.
Of course we know that it was not Peters shadow that healed the people, but the glory of God that overshadowed Peter. He walked in the light of Christ to the degree that the glory of God overshadowed Him. It was the Lord’s glory that overshadowed Peter that healed the sick as he walked by and it will once again be His glory that will rise upon His people that will testify of the resurrection of Christ in power and demonstration.
A New Apostolic Government by 2012
These apostles will be like that of Joshua and Caleb, leaders that will bring the remnant of God’s people into the Promise Land. These apostles will not be appointed by man but by the Lord. As we mentioned earlier, many of these will come from the harvest, which will be a new breed that will look different from what we would now call “apostolic.” These men and women of God will release a stimulus package from heaven that will cause the Church to greatly prosper with the economy of heaven.
The apostles that the Lord is raising up will not be concerned about building an organization, their reputation or ministry. This new breed of apostolic order will not fear man nor will they be concerned about what others may say or think about them. Their passion is to reveal Christ and Christ alone. These will be true witnesses seeking to build up the household of faith in Christ,
From whom the whole body is fitly joined together supplying every need according to the effecting working in the measure of every part to increase the body unto the edifying of itself in love (Eph. 4:15).
Their hearts will burn with the Father’s love with Christ passion that the same love that is in Jesus may also be in us. (John 17:26) To see all the fivefold ascensions gifts of Christ established in the church working as a ministry team. To see every believer function in their gifts as God has set each one in the church with every member functioning in the unity of the Spirit. (Eph. 4:15-16). During this time we will see the Church being fitly framed together and growing up into Christ for a habitation for the Spirit of God, In whom you are also built together for a habituation of God through the Spirit (Eph. 2:19-22).
As Christ is established as the head of every believer and every believer is functioning properly in the church, it will then be the ordinary members of the church that will do the work of the ministry that will rival all other movements, “Which is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all” (Eph. 1:23).
In His heart and love
