There is a form of terrorism coming through the internet, the media, politics, education and government. This form of terrorism is holding people captive to perversion, deception, lust, greed, humanism, legalism and political influences that are eroding the morality of our society. Much of what is being accepted culturally that is termed “politically correct,” is intended to hold the mind captive to intellectual logic and reasoning that leads to a compromise of Christian principles and values.
We are at a juncture in history where America is at a crossroad. Our nation’s Christian heritage and destiny as ordained by God is in jeopardy. The so called “progressives” believe that the Constitution is archaic. Their answer is to legalize sin that grants equality to all, such as same sex marriage. Thus, the very heart and foundation upon which this nation was founded is being threatened. This form of progression only leads to regression that opens the door for spiritual oppression.
Our first right is that of life, for mankind was created to bear the image and likeness of God. Life is the essence and heart of God who sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, that we may have life and have it more abundantly. The United States was funded by Godly men to establish and defend religious freedom and liberty with a Constitution and Bill of Rights to guide this nation based upon moral and sound Biblical principles.
Our founding forefathers were Christian patriots that stood for truth, justice and liberty. They were radical warriors for their time with the wisdom to establish a nation based upon the eternal law that God is sovereign and has created all men equal.
Today while the church is sleeping the enemy is quietly advancing. Obviously the old Church structure is not equipped to address today’s issues and challenges. No longer can Christians remain passive while lodging in the place where there is little power for change. To do so is to allow the enemy to overrun all that we hold dear and true. The old ways of doing business is not working well. We must be about the Father’s business doing things His way in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We are at war within our own borders. While Christianity is being marginalized, other religions, philosophy and ideology are being exemplified. To counter this move, there are a number of grass root movements emerging across this nation. One such Christian movement is called The Oak Initiative that is rapidly gaining momentum. It will take an initiative by proactive Christians with one voice that is heard throughout the land to become an effective cohesive force to redeem this nation for Christ.
Sadly, many Christians are held captive by lust, false doctrines, rejection, fear, anger and discouragement that have left their first love. Many have deep wounds and scars from previous wounds. Finding fault with one another, they attack those that are different and fight with one another. Many wounded soldiers struggle daily just to survive. Because of this, many Christians are not able to unite as a cohesive force to impact their region for Christ. Behind all of this is the accuser of the brethren, Satan, who knows that a house divided will not stand.
The spirit of unity is greatly feared by the enemy. The only way that he can render the army of the Lord ineffective is to use Christians to war against their own brethern. His tactic is simple and effective. He seeks to cause division on every possible level of relationship – between pastors and their congregation, church members with each other, children and their parents and husbands and wives. Some Christians are so deceived t they actually believe they are a being used by God despite the product of their fruit may wound, poison or maim another. In a real sense it’s a form of Christian Jihad!
A great spiritual battle now looms before the Church. Many Christians are avoiding this in order to protect themselves. Although this is understandable and may seem noble and their reasons justifiable, compromise will never lead to a lasting solution. Nor will it resolve the present conflicts or bring healing and restoration to the church. God’s heart is to heal the wounded and restore the prodigal sons in the house of the Lord.
While the church is occupied with personal issues, the adversary is advancing to take the high ground of finances, politics, the media, family, economy and religion. Islamic forces seek to enforce Islam as a World religion. Communism, fascism and socialism seeks to place nations under the tyranny of its grips to control its people, the nation’s wealth, religion and economy. And now on our own soil, it has been declared that the United Sates is a post Christian nation by those that seek to replace the very heart of this nation’s Christian heritage and Constitution with a twisted ideology.
A New Breed
The Lord is preparing courageous leaders willing to fight a spiritual war. These leaders have overcome the accuser and are fearless in their stand against spiritual terrorism and the doctrines of men that hold God’s people captive. Their heart beats in rhythm with the Father’s heart as they assault the evil of the times in the power of the Spirit to open prison doors and set the captives free. (Luke 4:18)
Ministering with the Fathers’ heart, they fight to preserve the right to life. They seek to maintain the unity of the Spirit without “demonizing” another, for the battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the forces of darkness, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph. 6:12).
In the midst of this struggle, the Kingdom of God will be revealed in power and demonstration that will draw people to His Kingdom. Two of the greatest weapons are truth and love. The Father’s love is one of the weapons of choice because love never fails. Those who take up the Sword of the Spirit with His heart will be trusted with the power of heaven to minister life, healing and restoration to a lost and dying world. It is the manifestation of His Kingdom through His people that will demonstrate that God’s government is greater than any human government, principality and power.
A New Opportunity
Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. (19) Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:18-19).
The greatest opportunity is set before us to rise and shine and band together to make a great advance. This however will require a Special Force of commandos that are highly trained in the weapons of warfare that are mighty in God to the pulling down of strongholds. It will require soldiers that have a Kingdom mindset that can quickly mobilize to do great exploits. Soldiers that are not limited by the traditional boundaries of the Church that all too often render Christians ineffective due to legalism.
When the Lord told Joshua “Moses my servant is dead” (Joshua 1:2) He was stating that He was doing something new and different. What worked for Moses as the shepherd of God’s people in the wilderness would not work for Joshua in the Promise Land. It was time for Israel to mobilize as an army. This is the clarion call that many are hearing today – to leave the old and embrace the new and they are finding each other.
A transition always requires a death to the old in order to walk through the door of opportunity. When a person joins the army, they leave the freedom of civilian life to enter the discipline world of military life. Transitions always require great faith and courage and involves going through a process. But it is the kind of change that we can believe in, for the Lord always leads His people from glory to glory in victory “Now thanks be unto God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ…”(2 Cor. 2:14).
The Power to Tread
In order for Joshua to make the transition from being an elder of Israel to leading the army as a general, he had to step into the mantle of His call. In doing so, Joshua received his new orders- take the Promise Land by force. Just as Moses received an impartation with the commission as a deliverer of God’s people at the burning bush, God’s is commissioning His people with an impartation to carry out their new assignment. Divine strategies are being released from heaven that will enable the church to make a great advance with the power to tread upon the enemy.
“Therefore arise and go over this Jordan with the people unto the land that I give to you, even the children of Israel. (3) Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that is the land I have given to you” just as I said to Moses” (Joshua 1:2-3).
To “tread’ upon means to walk in the domain where you are called to rule. It means to beat with the feet so as to crush Satan under your feet! It means to step on, subdue and take dominion. The church has been empowered to take dominion to put all her enemies under its feet! We are not called to dread the enemy, but to tread upon the forces of evil, Jesus said, “Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing by any means shall hurt you” (Luke 10:19).
The commission given to mankind by God noted in Genesis 1:28 is to be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth “and subdue it and have dominion…” Jesus obtained the victory over all power of the enemy completely when He shed His blood at Calvary. Jesus not only died to cleanse us of sin, but to free people from the power of sin. The domain of the King is “righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Ro. 14:17).
Giving thanks unto the Father, who has made us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light” (13) Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son (Col) 1:13)
When the Lord commissioned Joshua to take dominion of the Promise Land, they were empowered to subdue their enemies that enabled them to occupy the land. Israel had to fight with a conquering mentality in order to take territory. Likewise Kingdom warriors must first subdue the enemy in order occupy. In order to tread upon the enemy and take dominion, we must walk in the mantle of our call and fight with a conquering mentality. To retreat is not an option. Nor is hiding behind protective barriers where it is safe for in Christ we are more than conquerors, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).
Possess the Land
Knowing that the land contained harsh mountainous terrain, giants, vast armies and ruthless kings and a people that lived within walled cities, Joshua went forward in faith knowing that through conquest, Israel would inherit a vast territory.
The territory that we conquer is our inheritance, for we obtain that which we gain through our labor. It’s like a job. You reap the wages that you work for. If a person doesn’t work, they receive no wages. Some Christians believe that if they have enough faith and they just wait, God will provide all things for them. In the wilderness God provided but in the Promise Land, the people ate the fruit of their labor. They went from a welfare status to a productive work force that stimulated the nation’s economy and prospered as they planted, sowed and reaped for a harvest. Because of this, they reaped the fruit of their labor. We too are called to sow in order to reap a harvest.
“And the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten of the old corn of the land: nor did the children of Israel eat manna any more: …” (Joshua 6:12).
Just as the Priest had to step into the water first before they parted, as you step into your inheritance the waters will part for you! (Joshua 3:15-17) God moves on the behalf of those that move forward in response to His leading. The ministry, ground and area that the Lord has given to you is your Promise Land. Whether it is your family, ministry, business or property, it is your inheritance. As you walk forward, displacing all demonic forces hindering you and you cultivate your garden, you will indeed prosper! This includes the Lord doing a work in you so that His light will shine through you, for we are His garden that He is cultivating to bear good fruit.
The Lord told Joshua that every place he walked was his. Like Joshua, the ground that you walk is holy ground and it is yours! The Lord told Joshua that as he obeyed the Lord to fulfill his destiny that no man will be able to stand before him all the days of his life. The Lord also promised that He would not fail him. (Joshua 1:5) Nor will the Lord forsake His people nor fail those that follow Him. Jesus said,
All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. (19) Go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and the Holy Spirit. (20) …. And lo, I with you always, even unto the end of the world (Mt. 28:18-20).
In His heart and love
