Nugget of the Week

Nugget of the Week 1-13-13: The Place of Blessing

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon the beard, even Aarons’ beard: that went down to the skirts of His garments. (3) As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life forever more (Psalms 133:1-3).

Notice in verse three that David declared, “There” the Lord commanded the blessing.” Where is the place of “there?” It’s the place where we are in unity with the Lord’s heart to fulfill His purpose. Our quest is to live in the place where the Lord commands the blessing, which is the secret place of the most high – the place of His presence. When the Lord commands the blessing, there is no power in hell or on earth that can stand before the blessing that is ours in Christ.

So many times the prayer of God’s people is for God to pour our His Spirit to receive a fresh blessing. This is honorable and right, but wouldn’t it be more noble and a much higher purpose to live in the place where God commands the blessing? This takes place when the brethren dwell together in unity, for it is “there” that the Lord commands the blessing, even life for evermore.

The life of God flows from unity not discord. When our hearts are in sync with the Father’s heart, His life flows from His heart to ours. True unity arises from the union of our “heart to heart” relationship with God. Love is the path where the oil of unity flows. As the psalmist declared, “It is like the precious ointment poured upon the head of Aaron the priest.” The precious ointment is the anointing of God, that flowed from the top of Aaron’s head, down his beard and upon his garments. Aaron was the anointed high priest of Israel.

Thus, the precious ointment flows from the head of leadership, down upon the those who are united in Christ. We do not have to run after it, nor do we need to strive for it; we just simply come into union with the Father’s heart that comes from abiding in His presence in the heavenly realm. The rest flows naturally!

Unity must first begin at the house of God with the leadership. There is now taking place a divine alignment where the leaders are coming into a more perfect union with the Father’s heart and with one another. This alignment works by love; a love for God, a love for His truth and His people. As the leadership bands together as one in the heavenly realm, the Lord “commands a blessing” that brings life to the earth. The commanded blessing not only flows upon the leadership, but down the garment that infuses new life to the body of Christ.

It was the prayer of Jesus the night before His crucifixion, that the same glory the Father gave to Him, would also be given to His people, “That they may be one, as we are one”  (John 17:22). This glory is the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thus, our call is to be one in Spirit – the Holy Spirit, “For he that is joined unto the Lord is one Spirit” (1 Cor. 6:17).

As the leadership is joined to the Lord, the people will witness one Spirit –  the Lord’s. Just as Jesus was one with the Father that revealed God’s manifest glory, as we are joined unto the Lord, we too become one Spirit that reveals the light of His glory. The result of unity is the leadership’s authority is multiplied and the manifest glory of God with signs and wonders is magnified. As the leadership teach the people how to rise up in spirit to become one in Christ, from the place of intimacy they too will receive a commanded blessing. Then we shall see the light of God’s glory rest upon the household of faith as the noonday sun. As the psalmist declared, “In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun” (Ps. 19:4). A house in unity brings with it the Lord’s glory.

True unity does not come by everyone ascending to the same doctrine, or by doing the same thing the same way as a community. Although this may unify the people, the Lord has created each person to be unique and different in personality, race and gifting. Created in His image, every person has within their DNA the grace to reveal an aspect of God to one another. As each person releases the life that arises from the place of intimacy with the heart of the Father to another, the body will grow up into Christ as it edifies itself in love (Eph. 4:16).

Even in the midst of diversity there can be unity. While there are different gifts and diverse operations in the Church, the Lord honors and values each of His children. No one is esteemed above the other. As the Spirit of God moves and the people flow together in the same river, the peace and joy of heaven comes with all of its blessings. This is why we are commanded to,

Endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. For there is only one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling (Ep. 4:3-4).

Notice that Paul’s emphasis is on keeping the unity of the Spirit. Perhaps our focus should be more on coming into union with the Holy Spirit, then it is to bring others into union with our vision and purpose? There is a vast difference. One places the focus on one’s self and purpose, while the other is upon the Lord Himself. Strife and discord is the result of hearts that are out sync with the Father’s heart. The question we may need to ask is,  “What spirit is prevailing in our midst and what is the fruit of it thereof?

In this season of transition, the Lord is releasing the Malachi four anointing. This is known as the “Spirit of Elijah” with the defined purpose to restore the heart of the Father’s to the children and the heart of the children to the Father for there is only, “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all of you (Eph. 4:6). There is only one household of faith. As we join ourselves to the Lord’s Spirit, we enter into the same fellowship – His. This is why the Apostle Paul tells us to be of one mind – the mind of Christ.

It is from the place of unity of His people in the heavenly realm, that God commands the blessing that brings life to the earth. Soon, we shall see God’s love poured out upon His people. Rivers of living waters will then flow from the household of faith that will cause the desert to blossom with new life. God is doing a new thing and shall you not know it?

Behold I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall you not know it: I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert (Is. 43: 198)

We are the rainmakers of the Lord. As Jesus said, out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. As the dew of heaven saturates every fiber of your being, you become the Lord’s vessel to pour out His Spirit that has the power to transform the heart of others. We are blessed by God, we become a blessing to others.

In conclusion

We are in the midst of great change.  Don’t worry about where the leadership is today or the state or condition of the Church or government.  God has a plan and His Kingdom cannot be shaken. The clarion call is to rise up and come into an alignment with the Father’s heart. Like King David, the call is to abide in the secret place of the most high for He alone is our fortress (Ps. 91).

The power of change will take place from the heavenly realm by those in unity with the Lord. The power of unity in heaven is much greater and superior than any power that is in agreement on earth. We are seated with Christ who has risen and is seated at the right hand of the Father far above every principality and power.

As King David said, even when the kings of the earth and the rulers take counsel together to come against the Lord and His anointed, with the purpose to break their bands asunder (their unity) God has a plan. His plan is for you to sit in the heavens with Him and in doing so, His joy that is your strength, will come upon you. This joy comes from being in His presence. This is not just a “feel good joy” but the supernatural joy of the Lord. As you sit with Him in heaven, when He laughs in the face of our enemies, His victorious laugher imparts to you His authority with renewed courage and strength.

“He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then He shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore pleasure (See Psalms 1-6) .

The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy IN the Spirit. Seek a closer walk with God, especially to abide in His love, and you will soon rise and shine with the light of His glory. Those who come into union with His Spirit, will have His divine nature. Rather than seeking for another blessing, impartation, or spiritual gift, seek the Lord’s face to know His heart and soon the Lord will command a blessing upon your life, even life forevermore.

It is in this place of abiding in His presence that we live the supernatural life. It is from the place of union with the Lord that we become one Spirit. It is from the place of dwelling in His love that we are filled to overflowing with rivers of living water that enables us to touch the lives of others with His life.

Our call is not to just receive another blessing, but to bless others with the same blessing that we have been blessed with. Jesus command is to heal the sick, raise the dead and cleanse the lepers for “Freely you have received, freely give.” As we bless others with that which we have been given, the Lord will command another blessing. The degree that we receive is proportional to that of our giving, which is why it is more blessed to give than to recieve.

Why? Because it is God’s heart that you bless others with the same blessing that you have been blessed with. In doing so, you are in union with His heart, the place where the oil of anointing flows that works by love.
