The Spirit and Mantle of Wisdom

The Church is now in the midst of change. In order to navigate through these uncertain times, we need the gift of wisdom. Just one word of divine wisdom that imparts understanding can steer us safely through uncharted waters. A word of wisdom may be defined as the counsel of the Lord that brings practical solutions to the issues of everyday life.  Although a word of wisdom may not be as demonstrative as the gift of healing, wisdom can nevertheless make the difference between life and death, failure or success. Thus, wisdom and understanding is more precious than gold and silver (Pro. 3:13-14).  The Wisdom of Solomon tell us to,

“Incline your ear unto wisdom and apply your heart to understanding… For the Lord gives wisdom; out of His mouth comes understanding  (See Proverbs 2:1-6).

At the start of this year, I asked the Lord for an impartation of the Spirit of wisdom. What is the difference? Although a word of wisdom may reveal divine insight to solve a specific situation, the Spirit of wisdom is a MANTLE of the Lord that rest upon a person. Jesus is our wisdom! This is what rested upon King Solomon that enabled him to rightly judge the people, create a prosperous economy, and build the Temple of the Lord and rule with excellence as King of Israel.

When the queen of Sheba had seen the Wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food at his table, the seating of his servants, the attendance of his ministers and their attire, his cupbearers and their attire, and his stairway by which he went up to the house of the LORD, she was breathless (2 Chr. 9:3-4).

Everywhere the Queen of Sheba turned, she saw creative excellence. She was so amazed at the beauty of the house Solemn built, the clothes that adorned his servants and the food set before them, that she was speechless! What she beheld was the supernatural wisdom upon Solomon that displayed the splendor of God’s creative expression through the arts, fashion and architecture that revealed the prosperity of a nation and it’s people. All that God does reflects His glory!

During Solomon’s reign, Israel also experienced a time of world peace. The wisdom of Solemn also created an international trade system of exports and imports of natural resources. This infusion of goods and services created a prosperous economy. The fruit of the Spirit of wisdom is excellence manifested through the quality of the life of the people– the more abundant life that is ours in Christ.

The Wisdom of Solomon is a prophetic picture of the Church. The temple of Solomon that hosted the Lord’s presence,  (2 Chronicles 5:14) and all that he built, and the prosperity of Israel, is the inheritance of the manifest sons of God. As joint heirs with Jesus, we are called to rule to be fruitful and have dominion that reveals the excellency of His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. The Lord will do this and He will do this through His people. The Church will once again be unto the Lord a name of joy, a praise and honor before all the nations of the earth (See Jer. 33:9).  The Spirit of the Lord is now upon us for such as time as this!

The Call To Rule With Wisdom

The Spirit of wisdom and understanding is a mantle of the Lord “And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might and the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord” (Is. 11:1-3).

This is the Lampstand of God. Notice the “Spirit of the Lord” is listed in pairs. The Spirit of wisdom and understanding and the Spirit of counsel and might and the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.  All we need to receive these mantles is to ask the Lord in faith who gives to all men liberally “and it shall be given to him” (James 1:5). We must always, however, inquire of the Lord in order to receive what we need. If we are faithful stewards of the first impartation, the Lord will promote us with the next impartation, which is the Spirit of counsel and might.

The Spirit of wisdom and understanding is more than just gleaning insight for a specific area, but encompasses a much larger realm of rule. This truth is a thread that runs throughout the Bible on display by those who touched the lives of others within their sphere of influence and authority. Such as King David,

And David realized that the Lord had established him as King over Israel, and that He had exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel (2 Samuel 5:12).

The call to rule is for the sake of God’s people and His Kingdom. As we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, the Spirit of Wisdom enables us to prosper His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.  We also see this in the life of Daniel who was a Seer with the gift of interpretation of visions and dreams. Because Daniel and his friends sought to know the Lord and His ways, they were exalted above the wisdom of the wise and those that operated under the influence of satanic rule,

“In all matters of wisdom and understanding, the King enquired of them, and he found them to be ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all of his Kingdom (Daniel 1:20).

Even in the midst of astrologers, new agers, and those who dabbled in the occult, Daniel kept himself pure in the eyes of the Lord. For this reason, God gave him favor with understanding that was TEN TIMES BETTER than those who served other gods. The result of the Spirit of wisdom upon Daniel enabled the King of a heathen nation and it’s people to prosper.  This too was for the sake of God’s people, the Jews who were in captivity in Babylon at the time.

It was the Spirit of wisdom that rested upon Moses that the Lord imparted to 70 elders. This empowered them to rightly judge the 12 tribes of Israel as they journeyed through the wilderness. The Spirit of wisdom can be imparted to others who are called to assist, such as those called in the work of ministry.  Do you know of someone who operates in wisdom – study their lives. Read the book of Proverbs, which is filled with wisdom. Glean from those who have gone on before you the wisdom they displayed. Wisdom tells us not to invent the wheel when it is already in motion for we stand upon the shoulders of those who have gone on before us.

Wisdom Brings Favor Of the Lord

Those who walk in wisdom exude a life of integrity with excellence. Integrity attracts the favor of the Lord. We see this in the life of David who was a skilled musician with the creative ability to pen prophetic songs. He was known as a man who behaved himself wisely and as such, the Lord’s favor rested upon him!

And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways, and the Lord was with him. Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him (1 Sam. 18:14-15).

Favor as a result of integrity will instill fear in the hearts of your enemies and those that oppose you. The favor of God will also void the plans and purposes of your enemy who seeks to destroy you. And thus “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold” (Proverbs 22:1).

We see the favor of the Lord resting upon the life of Joseph. While at an early age, God never abandoned Joseph due to his impetuous and prideful character. The Lord in His wisdom actually used this to develop Joseph’s character so that he could embrace wisdom that would reveal the Excellency of God through his gifting. Gifting without the love of God and His wisdom is merely ruthless power.

Whether Joseph was in a pit or in prison, he knew it was wise to learn the ways of God as he endured the trials of his tribulation. This is where the real power of transformation takes place that takes us from “glory to glory, even by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Cor. 3:18). If Joseph was released from prison early, most likely he would have gone home and missed his calling. In god’s timing he became the prince of Egypt after interpreting Pharaohs dream that revealed the wisdom of God that enabled a nation and it’s economy to prosper, even in the midst of a severe famine.

By Wisdom A House is Built

In the midst of a failing economy, increasing unemployment, terrorism, political upheaval and natural disasters, God is establishing His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. His Kingdom reveals the excellency, glory and splendor of a creative God. We therefore need the Wisdom of Solomon that prospered Israel’s economy, the anointing of Joseph who interpreted Pharaohs’ dreams that preserved a nation, and the wisdom of David who established a tabernacle that hosted the Lord’s glory.

Today the Lord is rebuilding the Tabernacle of David, which has fallen (Amos 9:11).  We know that this is the house of the Lord spoken of in Ephesians 2:22-23. The Lord is now raising up wise master builders who can rightly establish the people in Christ to become fitly framed together in Him “In whom you are built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit.” The church was not created for the people, but the people are created in His image to become a habitation to host His glory. We therefore must build as the Lord’s wise master builders. Proverbs 24:3 declares,

“Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established.”

It is my hearts passion to see the people of God host the Lord’s presence, abide in His love and know their true identify that leads them to the fulfillment of their destiny. It is from the place of His presence that we minster the life of His Spirit to others. As the apostle Paul declared, “I travail in birth again until Christ is formed in you” (Ga. 4:19). The Lord once told me that if I will build His house, He would establish the ministry.  Our goal is not just to build up our ministry, but to use our ministry to build up the people of God in Christ.

If you edify the people in Christ that abide in His love, from the place of intimacy they will host His presence that works by love. Thus, revealing the Kingdom of heaven on earth for the Kingdom of heaven comes in His presence. As the people of God become a habitation for His glory, the nature of heaven invades the earth,

And the Gentiles shall come to your light, and the kings to the brightness of your rising. The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come and they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show fort the praises of the Lord (Isaiah 60:3 & 5).

Prosperity is the result of Kingdom life.  The command with blessing of God that He issued to Adam and Eve from the beginning has never been retracted, which is the blessing to “Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion… ” (Genesis 1:28). This is our purpose and our call.

As we put on the armor of light, the Lord Jesus Christ, we will always know the way to go. His wisdom and understanding will equip us with divine favor to enlarge the borders of His Kingdom and prosper the life of His people.  It’s time to partner with the Lord to rise up and build for we have been endued with power f on high. Our call is to be fruitful, multiply and prosper within the sphere of our rule that reveals the glory, creative expression, Excellency and splendor of God.

His Wisdom revealed will cause the world to marvel with breathless speech as they behold the wonders of God. God loves to display his spender with excellence through your creative gifts, talents and expressions of creativity. The first thing God did in the beginning was to create and the Lord beheld His work and saw that it was good. As sons and daughters of the creator, it is in your DNA to be creative. Seek His wisdom and understanding, and the anointing of the Spirit will empower your work that will prosper you and your household.

Like the stars made in their honor that reveals the handiwork of God, you are His workmanship called to reveal His glory and splendor. You are created in His image for such a time as this. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them (Eph. 2:10).

                                            In His heart and love,
