The Grace and Favor of God

Gloryweb The favor of God always comes with an assignment. Every encounter is designed to know Him better with an impartation of His truth, divine nature or blueprint of heaven, to empower His people to fulfill the call.  Every encounter is not just for our comfort, edification and prosperity, but also to fulfill our assignment.  There is power released in the light of His presence, which is His favor – the grace of God.

For example, when Moses experienced the Lord at the burning bush, he received His assignment along with the revelation of God as the “I AM” that empowered Him to fulfill His mission. God’s assignment is always for the sake of His people and His Kingdom. The power and provision of God is released as we walk in obedience. If Moses had not accepted the call to free Israel, the rest of his life would have been void of the fullness of God.  There is no greater tragedy than life without purpose.

Likewise, along with our assignment, comes the favor of God that provides the provision we need to underwrite our mission. This is God’s grace by design. As we walk in our purpose, we experience the supernatural provision of heaven as well as the greatest adventure of a lifetime. His grace empowers us to do that which we are not able to do. Thus, His wisdom, provision, anointing and gifting are all part of the Kingdom package to fulfill our mission as well as to live a victorious abundant life that is ours in Christ.

As we walk in our assignment with purpose by faith, the favor of God provides by grace what we need to possess our inheritance. The favor of God is not the same as the favor of man for God is not partial. His favor is the grace freely given to those who love Him that walk with Him. It’s all about relationship.  Friends may the Lord’s face shine upon you and give you favor (See Numbers 6:24-27).

The call is to first and utmost, intimacy with God and from the place of intimacy, host His presence that reveals the Kingdom of heaven on earth.  We are created in His image and likeness to be as He is, full of truth and grace with the blessing to be fruitful, multiply, subdue and have dominion (Genesis 1:28). The price for this will cost us everything but in return we have all things in Christ. Now that’s a great deal!

As we step into our assignment as Moses did, no demonic power that we face, opposition or trials and tribulations, can prevail for the grace and favor of God is empowers us with His presence to complete our assignment victoriously. As we move towards our high call in Christ, the Kingdom of God and the host of heaven is at our disposal.  What originates from the heart of God is sustained by the Spirit of God for the Lord watches over His word to perform it (Jer. 1:12).

All of our encounters with the Lord is designed to shape our destiny.  So many look for God’s favor in the form of prosperity, wealth, abundance, gifting and anointing, without being obedient to the call. God’s favor is not to be used to draw people to us or for personal gain but for Kingdom purposes. When our focus is upon self, we will level off in our spiritual development and favor with God.

Perhaps this is why so many Christians are spiritually dry and oppressed.  Without walking in faith and obedience, we will wander in our wilderness always looking for a breakthrough, blessing, another prophetic word or encounter.  Even though the Lord was with Israel as a cloud by day and a fire by night, the people of God could not entered into the Promise Land because of their faith in the one who freed them from slavery. It’s odd that they witnessed the hand of God who deliver them from spiritual oppression (salvation) but didn’t have the faith to enter into their assignment to take the land of their promised possession.

We must move from the foot of the cross to live in the Kingdom of God. As dual citizens of the Kingdom, while our bodies are on earth our spirit is to be in continual touch with the Lord in heaven. This requires an alignment with our heart, mind and will with that of heaven and God’s purpose for our lives. It is in the heavenly realm that we are empowered with the favor and grace of God that enable us to carry out our mandate on earth in the power of the Spirit.

The Spirit of God is like a river in that it is always moving. A river that continually flows remains pure with the power of movement. When we gather for ourselves, the living waters within our temple will become stagnate – a pool void of the power and life of God. This is why the Lord told Israel not to gather the manna they needed for more than one day, as it would perish. We must be nourished daily by the life of His Spirit in order to flow in the river, which is why Paul exhorted us to daily put on the new man which is renewed after the knowledge of Christ  (Col. 3:10).

So often we want to keep that which makes us feel safe and secure rather than walking in faith. It is only as we walk forward by faith in obedience to our call that our daily bread is given. This is why Jesus taught us that if we seek the Kingdom of God first and His righteousness, all these things will be ADDED unto you. So often we seek the addition, or blessings of God, without walking in the life of the Kingdom.

May 18th of this month is the day of Pentecost. The Lord never retracted the Holy Spirit for He lives in you!  Rather than looking for another event or outpouring, release the life of Christ that is in you and the river will flow that will refresh your spirit with His living presence. Jesus taught,

Give and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you mete, it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 38).

God’s favor is given to those who use the favor they have been given (time, gifting, talents, influence, etc.) to enlarge God’s Kingdom to touch the life of others with the light of heaven. The key to breaking the spirit of poverty is by radical giving. We receive an abundance by first seeking the Kingdom of God, and then release the favor we have been given. Jesus is everything that we want and all that we need, for He is our inheritance who will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

Jesus provided the way at Calvary that enables us to enter into His presence where living waters flow.  Revelations 22:1 tells us that John saw clear living waters pure as crystal flowing from the throne and the Lamb of God. Living a life of worship with thanksgiving connects us to the throne where we drink of the living waters flow that enables us to overflow with the life of His presence.

God is drawing us to Him. God has provided a NEW and LIVING way. The living way is through Christ who is our life. It is through the sacrifice of praise as we offer our love to Him that enables us to connect with Him “Spirit to spirit.” God desires a “heart to heart” relationship. This is the key that empowers us to live the more abundant life that is ours in Christ- the life that works by love.

As we minister unto the Lord, which is our primary call, living waters flow from His Spirit to ours for we are created in His image. God is Spirit who created us with spirit in His image to host His glory. As King Solomon proclaimed, “The spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord” (Proverbs 20:27). King David understood,

You will show me the path of life: in your presence there is fullness of joy; and at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore (Psalms 16:11).

Our primary call is to love the Lord to abide in His presence.  As I have so often repeated, God is love and those who abide in love abide in God and God in Him. Unless our motive is love, the anointing, spiritual gifting, and revelation of God that we attempt to minister to others, will be void of the life of His presence.  So often people will minister in their gifts (that are without repentance) simply because they see this as the power of God. Without love, there is no power in what we do because love is the nature of God. In order to minister in the power of the Spirit,  it must have His nature, otherwise it will be void of the transformation power of God.

Without intimacy with God, anything else will drive us to seek his face until we find the life that is in Him and Him alone. Nothing else will do. Lift up your eyes and draw near to Him where His life will fill your inner most being with the light of heaven. Open your heart and simply love on Him and the King of Glory will come in to dwell in your temple with the authority and power of the Kingdom.

Our primary mission on earth is to host His presence where the Kingdom of God rules and reigns within that reveals the light of His glory to a lost and dying world. The light of heaven is not revealed by our good works but by the light of His presence, for the light of heaven is a person – the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said that the Kingdom of heaven is within you for it is ”Christ in you the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27). As we abide in God who is love, He will fill us daily with His life. This is how the Kingdom of God is revealed on earth – by those who host His presence that walk in the light of heaven, the person of Jesus Christ who is the light of our life.

The power of God is released through love. As we walk in the light of His presence, we can minister the life of His Spirit from the place of His presence. Rather than seeking to minster in power or your gifting, seek first His love and the power will flow. Seek for more intimacy with God and you will be filled with the light of heaven that fills your inner most being with rivers of living water.

Friends, rise, shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord HAS risen. (Is. 60:1) The Spirit of the Lord poured out on Pentecost abides in you. Come to the throne where living waters flow and let the river rise within you! Open up the gates of your heart and the King of Glory will invade your life with His power, authority and the anointing to take acquisitions back from the enemy.

You have an assignment, which is to love the Lord and from the place of intimacy, possess your promise land, your inheritance that is found IN Christ. It is the light of heaven that displaces the rule of darkness for light is greater than darkness. It is the light of His life in you that has the power to destroy the works of the devil.

“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).

You have been empowered by the favor and grace of God for such a time as this. Within you is the gift of the Holy Spirit with the favor of God to possess your promises possession. Go ye therefore and shine with the light of His glory that others may see and experience the light of heaven – the Lord Jesus Christ.

                                    In His heart and love,
