The Call For Unity

The Call for unity

It’s time to take up our cross and sound the trumpet call for unity! We must proclaim “no more division.”  It’s time to mobilize as the family of God to become one with the Lord and with one another. It’s time to align ourselves with the Father for Jesus paid the debt at Calvary for our victory “For through Him we have access by one Spirit unto the Father” (Ephesians 2:18).  And from the place of victory, march forward in the power of His might.  It’s time to awake and put on the armor of light and take up the Sword of the Spirit as instruments of His glory to take back the acquisitions the enemy has stolen.

People everywhere are crying for unity. They know there is a territorial battle raging for Kingdom life and dominion. This battle between light and darkness will be won, but it will be won first in the heart of God’s people. To impact change, the Lord is pouring out a fresh anointing (Psalms 92:10). His purpose is to awaken mercy and compassion to restore hearts to their first love – the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the spirit of Elijah anointing noted in Malachi 4:4:5-6,

“Behold, I will send to you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And He shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers…”

Many are praying for change, for God to send revival, for an awakening and for an outpouring of His Spirit.  While people are looking for an event the Lord has proclaimed, “I have risen and I live in you.” The Lord will do these things but through a people whose hearts are pure, clean and undefiled. Hearts that are so full of love, as messengers of fire they burn with the passion to see Christ bride abide close the heart of her groom and lover – the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:7).  These are being labeled “the burning ones.”

When our eye is single upon the Lord, as Jesus taught, we shall be filled with His light. The eye is the eye-gate for the light of heaven to come into our heart and fill us with His living presence. It is His light that burns brightly in our heart that has transforming power to touch others with the light of His life. It is the light of His glory that shines within, that has the power to cast out darkness. Darkness cannot cast out darkness, only the light of God’s living presence can. It is said of Jesus,

In Him was life; and the life was the light of men (John 1:4).

It is His life that shines in our heart with His living presence that is the source of light that others may see Him. The surgical work that God is performing today is in the heart. The results will be a people who love one another the way God loves them. God is love and those filled with His love, are radiant with the light and life of His glory.  Those who love others the way God loves them, will shine with the visible countenance of God. This visible glory is spoken of by the prophet Isaiah who saw the day when,

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people, but the Lord shall rise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you (Is. 60:2).

The Lord will not trust His anointing to those who are judgmental and critical. Or to those who create strife and discord in the body of Christ. If the Lord cannot trust us with our own words, how can He trust us with His? We are to honor and esteem HIS children that make up the family of the household of faith.

He is looking for hearts that are knitted with His. It is here in His presence where hearts are joined with His for an intimate “heart to heart” relationship. A lovers’ heart is the key to unlock our spirit to become one Spirit with the Lord’s knowing that “He that is joined to the Lord is one Spirit (1 Cor. 6:17).

The prayer of Jesus on the night of His betrayal was for the Father to send the gift of the Holy Spirit that we may be one with Him and the Father. And for the love that the Father gave to Jesus who so loved the world, would also be in us “That we may be one” (See John 17: 22 – 26).  Friends, it is love that makes us one in Him, for “God is love and He who abides in love abides in God and God in him (1 John 4:16-17).

Endeavor to Maintain the Unity of the Spirit

True unity can only exist when we are properly joined to the Lord in Spirit. This is accomplished when our hearts are joined with His for “Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.”  Behavior that breeds strife, jealousy, anger and bitterness creates division and discord. These things attract demonic spirits, which the Lord hates. (See Proverbs 6:16-19)  The reason why God hates these things is because they are counter powers to the power of His love – the love that cast out all fear and the love that never fails.

True unity does not occur when everyone attends the same events, programs, church or even when everyone embraces the same theological doctrine. (Although that helps) True unity comes when we are in the Lord’s presence for His presence makes us one. He alone is the TRUTH, the Life and the Way. As the apostle Paul tells us, “There is only one body, one Spirit one Lord and Father of all who is in you all” (Eph. 4:4-6). Since there is only one Spirit our quest is to be filled to overflowing with the life of His presence.

True unity can take place even in the midst of diversity. Every person is gifted differently with a purpose and call. This is why the Apostle Paul admonished the Church to,  “With all lowliness and meekness, forbear one another in love. Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Eph. 4:2-3).

Paul tells us to keep the unity of the SPIRIT in the bond of peace. How do we keep the unity of the Spirit? We must ask ourselves, where is the Lord’s presence and His glory? Where is the Lord in all of this? If the Lord isn’t present, then we must seek His Kingdom first and His righteousness until the Spirit is present. God wants us to experience His tangle presence. Thus, we must become more familiar with the Holy Spirit. Then we can see what He is doing and speak that which He desires to say, for where the Lord is there is liberty. When we are enjoined with Him, our words will contain grace and the love of God will move through our hearts to touch others with His life,

And hope makes not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, which is given to us (Romans 5:5).

Grieve not the Holy Spirit

Anything that slays love destroys the unity of the Spirit. Simply put, those who walk in love with an eye for restoration and renewal, create a culture that attracts the presence of God. We are thus admonished not to grieve the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:18-20 states “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesying.

Just as water quenches fire, we can quench the fire of the Spirit that is to burn brightly in our hearts. We know when the ten spies gave a negative report of their perception of the Promise Land (despite God’s promise and provision) their words caused Israel to stumble because of unbelief  (Deut. 1:21-28).  The people became discouraged and without courage, the Lord knew they would fall before their enemies, thus they wandered around in the wilderness for 40 years where they perished. Joshua and Caleb were of a different spirit, who said,  “We are more than able.”  These two the Lord used to lead another generation into the Promise Land where they received their promised inheritance. We are more than able when our eyes are upon the Lord who empowers us by His grace to do that which we alone are not able to do. What we see with the eyes of our heart determines what we believe. We must learn to see from the Lord’s perspective who is more than able to do exceedingly above all that we can ever dream or hope for.

We must understand that what we see or hear in the natural, although it may appear to be true, may not be the truth that makes men free. The fruit of God’s truth edifies, brings restoration and healing. The truth spoken in love does not render a judgment, but rather a blessing. The test of our lips is “What fruit are we bringing forth?

When we give negative reports about ministries and Christians we can release a curse upon them, which in turn grieves the work of Spirit, especially in our own lives. It’s a serous matter to touch the members of the Lord’s own family much less His anointed. Likewise, many who do not discern the Lord’s own members of His body correctly,  become spiritually weak for God cannot inhabit that which is contrary to who He is.

Are we quenching the Spirit by limiting what the Lord can do in our lives and ministry? How do we value and view the prophetic ministry? What is our heart attitude towards those that are different from us? Do we mumble and grumble, murmur and complain as Israel did? Are we involved with gossip and fault finding? Or are we ministering His words of wisdom that brings life. Our call is to live a life of faith with thanksgiving and praise knowing that all things turn out to the good those who love the Lord (Romans 8:28).

The Wings of Healing

A friend of mine shared that he recently woke up and heard the Lord say, “NO MORE DIVISION. I think everyone can agree, that the real battle is to see Christians healed and restored from the battles and wounds they have suffered, especially from the hands of Christians. It is said that the majority of Christians in New England do not attend Church. Satan knows that a house divided cannot stand. Friends, it’s time to regroup around the Lord and His presence and stand “As One” united in Christ.

The Son of righteousness is now rising with healing in His wings.  Hearts that are wounded, weary and discouraged from the battle will find the healing balm of God’s love touching them deeply. A remnant with the heart or mercy is now being awakened with the passion to see Christ minister His grace for restoration and renewal to take place in the lives of God’s people. To see unity take place within the body of Christ where the bride comes into true union with her lover. And from the place of abiding in God who is love, letting their love touch the lives of others that reveals the goodness, mercy and grace of God.

A remnant with the heart of God is now rising.  These freedom fighters will not tolerate the issues that quench the Spirit for they value the abundant life that is theirs in Christ.   It will be those walking in love that God will trust with supernatural power that will bring healing and restoration to the broken hearted, the discouraged and those who need to experience God and His love.

Friends, as agents of change, lets rise to the occasion to become reformers to see restoration and healing take place. It only takes 2 or three gathered together in His name that can start a ripple effect in the region. Transformation is coming, but it must first begin in the house of the Lord. Herein lies the heart of the matter – in the heart of His people.

It’s Time To Sound the Trumpet Call

Let us take up our cross daily and sound the trumpet throughout the region for unity. The Lord is not here to take sides on issues, for our call is to abide in Him for He is the Truth.  The heart of the Father is for healing, restoration and redemption. Our Father so loved the world that while we were yet sinners, He sent His son Jesus that we may be restored for fellowship and intimacy.

This is the heart of the gospel of Christ and it must be deeply rooted in our hearts as well. We must be in union with Him to fulfill His purpose on earth as it is in heaven.  It’s time to take up our cross and follow Him. The call is to rise and shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen (Is. 60:1)
