Endeavor to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Eph. 3).
The Lord’s passion is to see relationships restored and the Church culture that is wounded healed. By culture, I mean the Kingdom life where the Church is less of a structured organization to a thriving family that understands how to do life that attracts and sustains God’s presence. The eye of Christ is upon HIS BELOVED BRIDE. God is a relational God and it is all about family! When we learn how to do life with God and do life as a family, we become a shelter – an ark of safety for others that need healing and restoration as well as equipping and training.
What people are hungry for is the Kingdom of God. Within every person is a spiritual well with the supernatural need to be filled to overflowing with spiritual life. There is also the need to live in a supernatural community where the culture manifests the Kingdom of heaven. A culture is a living thing. Christ is life and the Kingdom of heaven comes in His presence. Jesus said the Kingdom of heaven is within you. His life is our light that shines with His glory that reveals the testimony of Christ and His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
The blueprints for true Kingdom life are now being formed in the heart of God’s people. We thus need wisdom – the wisdom that reveals how to do life and how to reign in life with dominion. Our call is to do life from the place of His presence. It is not about the product we produce or our ministry, but the life of Christ in His people. Thus, success in the Kingdom is not about achievements, but building and cultivating life giving relationships. To establish the principles of the Kingdom based on rule without the value of His presence is to have a Kingdom without a King.
The Kingdom of God is a culture where faith, hope and love thrive. A culture created by a people that work together to build up others to become “A habitation of God through the Spirit” (Eph. 2:22). The Church family that does life will set a new course that will impact their family, business and ministry with the kingdom of heaven. God is preparing a people to add the spice of Kingdom life into every segment of society. The results are a people that broker the reality of heaven that becomes a shelter for those that want to learn how to do life.
Wise master builders are now rising to create a Kingdom culture to host the presence of God. Fix the culture and you fix the issues that evolve from a lack of trust and communication. Revival will then flow like ocean waves as each person learns to carry God’s presence. Kings will come to the brightness of their rising and nations will come to behold their light (Is. 60:1-3).
My hearts passion is to see people that are family orientated empowered with Kingdom life for healing, restoration and renewal to take place in the region. To establish an ark of safety that host God’s presence by an apostolic community to impact their family, business and city for Christ. The fire of God’s presence is now upon us. Its time to rise and build with the heart of the Father.
Romancing God – The Kingdom Life
Years ago my passion was to create an administration for the five fold ministries of Christ and the gifts of the Spirit to be in full operation. The means to do this was through an administrative structure where people are equipped and trained for ministry. Although equipping is still my vision, it’s not my purpose. My purpose has shifted to cultivating family life. Although a good administration is important, you can have an organized structure that runs like a well-oiled machine, but without a family atmosphere where the people love and serve one another, you have nothing!
As Bill Johnson recently expressed, divine order comes out of romance with God. Whether it is intimacy with God, our spouse and family, or church life, divine order arises from the place where love prevails and rules. The fruit of divine order that reveals the Fathers love has the power to transform cities. Like the Garden of Eden before the fall, order was natural because Adam and Eve were in harmony with their creator and with one another. As the second Adam, Jesus came to restore all things – especially intimacy with God who created us in His image.
We cannot do things the old way as professing Christians by operating in a structure that does not provide the pathway to hosting God’s presence. When we are intimate with Him and our lives are filled with His love, we can learn how to do life to serve and prosper others. Love from the place of intimacy is the key to releasing the blueprint of heaven that brings order out of chaos, light where there is darkness and life where there is death.
It is from the place of intimacy with God, that we learn how to do life as carriers of His presence. It is from the place of intimacy as a Church family, that we learn how to do life with one another that reveals His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. It is the family that learns how to do life that attracts the favor of God that prospers every area of our life. The Lord is now releasing the Spirit of wisdom to enable us to live the more abundant life that is our inheritance in Christ. What the enemy has stolen the Lord is now restoring.
It is not about a hierarchy or the clergy, but an empowered people working together. The Kingdom of heaven is a culture where love and honor are the core values revealed through a people that release life to each other. A people that are so connected with the Father’s heart they become one in the unity of the Spirit. God is not calling us to rule, but to serve. The fruit of an empowered family that love and serve one another, is the building up of the body of Christ,
But speaking the truth in love, that we may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head of the Church. From whom the whole body is fitly joined together in such a way that every person will make an increase in the body unto the edifying of itself in love”(Eph. 4:15).
As the above scripture indicates, as the people build up one another in love, the Church will grow up into Christ. And where Christ is, there is His Kingdom for the Kingdom of heaven comes in His presence.
Jesus – Our Model To Do Life
Jesus is our model for New Testament life. Jesus never gave instructions on “How to do church!” His message was life itself. It is written in Acts 1:1 that Jesus began to “both do and to teach.” He demonstrated the power of the Kingdom by healing the sick, cleansing the lepers and raising the dead. His teachings expounded the ways of the Kingdom and His works revealed the power of the Kingdom. Thus, the ministry of teaching and the supernatural work together to reveal the life and nature of Christ and His heaven.
As children of the Kingdom, our call is to go and do likewise. The religious spirit is after form and conformity, while creativity is the expression of heaven. Thus, when a congregation begins to do life, the Spirit moves in power. The result is the freedom of the creative expression of heaven with signs and wonders, “For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
I am convinced that no matter how many great events, outreaches and programs we host, it will be void of the supernatural life that comes from Kingdom family life. Jesus addressed this issue to the Church at Ephesus exhorting them to return to their first love (Rev. 2:1-5). Restore the Church family to its life giving inheritance in Christ –the faith that works by love, and all else will follow.
Thus, in order to have Kingdom life the way Church life is meant to be, we must love the Lord and His people the way that He loves them. We are called to do life not ministry. Ministry is the overflow from intimacy with God. The gifts and calling are without repentance, but the life of His Kingdom comes as we host His presence when we abide in God who is love. Seek His love that reveals the Father’s heart for the world, and you will release the power of the Spirit that touch others with His life.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loves is of God: and knows God. But he that loves not doesn’t know God; for God is love (1 John 4:7-8).
Show me a people whose words and deeds uplift one another, and I will show you a people that know God and His love. Show me a Church, family or business void of gossip, slander and hearsay, and you will find a people that know His grace and mercy. Show me a people that serve, care and honor one another and you will find the atmosphere of heaven in their midst.
His Liquid Love
It was on 9-11, 2011 at our “Heart of David” conference that I asked God for His unlimited love. I was on a walk two days later when suddenly heaven opened above me and His liquid love filled me. I was so undone; I wept profusely! When I got home, I literally crawled on my hands and knees up the stairs to reach my office on the second floor. Since then, God has poured out His liquid love upon me time and time again. What wonderful grace!
God’s love has a direction with purpose. It was His love that broke the barnacles that encased my heart from years of rejection, misunderstandings and warfare. His love melted the frustrations and impatience that fostered over the years from disappointments. Now I can hear the heart of people in a way I have never heard before. His love reveals to me who He is that has awakened my heart to His reality. It is His goodness and mercy that transformed my heart. It is His bloodshed at Calvary that redeemed the failures and shortcomings of my past. Such wondrous grace!
Prior to this, I conducted ministry more like a military drill sergeant with the goal to train recruits where discipline was the order of the day. Being a former Marine that served in Viet Nam, I saw people as soldiers of God’s army and it was my goal to empower and release them for ministry and equip them for warfare. So my approach was “OK people – front and center! You know the vision, where we are in God’s season and His purpose. Submit and lets shape up and get with it!
As a commander my style of leading wasn’t always working! Taking this approach often led to frustration, misunderstanding and indifference among the ranks! What meant to be freedom was to some a prison that confined them. The teaching “submission to authority” often means that the one in authority is empowered which makes others less empowered. Its not about titles, gifting or rule, but serving.
The role of a leader, especially apostolic Fathers, is to empower people and to help them learn how to do life as friends of God. Our call is to serve from the heart to meet the need of others. The foundation that the apostles and prophets built upon was upon Christ and His love. When you lead people directly to the Father, they own their own relationship and come alive as He mentors them into Sonship. We are called to serve as God’s facilitators, not directors,
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that being rooted and grounded in love… And to know the love of Christ, which passes all understanding that you may be filled with the fullness of God” (See Eph. 3:17-19).
The greatest joy is to see God’s people “Rooted and grounded in Christ and His love.” The results are phenomenal that not only bears eternal fruit, but also creates a momentum that is sustained by the Spirit. It will be His love that builds up the household of faith AS A FAMILY – a Kingdom fellowship where people experience God’s mercy and goodness. A place where they can grow and mature to become all they are called to be – a people created in His image that reveals His likeness. Then we shall see the supernatural life the way Kingdom life is meant to be.
Even in the midst of diversity there can be unity when love is the motive with Christ at the center. We must all lay down our titles, agendas and differences and personal preferences in exchange for the Kingdom life. Then we shall see the control issues and the competitiveness that exist fade away as we become one “new man in Christ.” As Paul said, there is only one body, one Spirit and one Father of all that is in us all (Ephesians 4:1-6).
That The World May Know and Believe
A people that are united in love will have the testimony of Jesus. The result of unity is an invasion of heaven. All of creation is waiting for the manifest sons and daughters to reveal the testimony of Christ through a unified family. Then the world will believe in God and His Son as they experience His love. Listen to the Lord’s heart as He prayed on the eve of His crucifixion that reveals His passion,
Nor do I pray for these alone Father, but for them also that shall believe on Me through their word: (21) That they all may be one: as you are Father are in Me and I am in you. That they may also be one in us so that the world may believe that you have sent ME. (23) I in them, and you in Me, that they may be made perfect in one, that the world my know that you have sent me and that you love them as you have loved me (John 17: 20-21, 23).
How will they know that God so loved the world that He sent Jesus, if we do not reveal His love one for another? Is the world viewing the Church with skepticism because of the bickering, in-house fighting, and division that exist between leaders, churches and the people? Or do they see the goodness, mercy, and compassion of God through a people that love and honor one another? In the midst of the greatest darkness, the supernatural peace, love and abounding joy that arise from the unity of His people will soon astound the world.
While uncertainly, fear, and gross darkness increases upon the earth, the light of God’s glory will rise brighter and brighter upon His people. There is a time when the visible glory of God will be seen upon the face of His people and the nations will come to the light of their rising. Carrying the banner of the Father’s love, we can merge into true unity with the Lord and with one another. It is this unity by those aligned with the Father’s heart in heaven that attracts God’s attention. God in turn will command a blessing from heaven – even life forevermore.
Behold, how good and how pleasant, it is for brethren to dwell together in unity… As the dew of Hermon that descended upon the mountains of Zion, for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore (Psalms 133:1-3).
The blessing that the Lord commands is the “life” of heaven. The Lord is now delegating a new heart – His. It’s time to rise and build a Kingdom culture where there is life. Then we shall see God arise and dwell in the midst of His people.
Rise and Shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen. You were born for such a time as this!
In His heart and love,
