Who are we – A Church or Ministry?
People often ask, “What do you do? My response is “We are an apostolic / prophetic regional training center with the mandate to equip believers to know their identify, experience the Father’s love and be filled with the Spirit to fulfill their destiny. Especially to empower and equip believers for ministry” (Eph. 4:11). To help facilitate this, we establish Eastgate ministry teams that serve the body of Christ locally and at large. Our passion is stand with you for a world-impacting ministry. From Maine to the State of Washington, Africa and the UK, we experience God at work in powerful ways.
Are we a Church? Yes but not in the traditional sense! We believe every born again believer is a member of the household of faith – the Church “For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body…” (1 Cor. 12:13). Thus, as members of Christ body, our house has the vision to build up His body “unto the edifying of itself in love” (Eph. 4:16). Although we have a local body of believers, they are equipped to minister to anyone, anywhere in anyplace to reveal the love of God. Because our mindset and heart is for His Kingdom, we are able to bless and minister to His people, no matter what ministry, denominational preference or Church affiliation they attend.
We are a ministry to the Church – Whether it is through the Eastgate School of the Spirit seminars, or locally at our Eastgate House of Glory services and webinars, we seek to minister from the realm of heaven. Our heart is to serve with His heart that bears fruit that remains. And thus, the testimonies we receive exemplify the power of God that brings people to a whole new level of intimacy. Many testify of an explosion that takes place in their ministry, highlighting they have entered a new and profound level of spiritual life with an impartation of the Father’s love.
Even during our Sunday meetings we flow where the river of God takes us. This doesn’t mean that we come unprepared. Our posture is to stand before the Lord to flow with the leading that will take us in any direction. God is creative who loves to minister in unique and varying ways. And thus, we are able to demonstrate as the Spirit moves, that which the Lord is doing. Laying a Biblical foundation we activate the people to participate so they can experience Him and in turn, do the same as doers of His Word (Acts 1:1). This ‘hands on” approach is the model Jesus demonstrated that we embrace to equip others for ministry (John 15:8).
Am I a pastor? Although we don’t wear titles, I do some pastoral work. It’s not unusual for me to council pastors and leaders from other Churches and ministries over the years. I often counsel those locally who need pastoral care that are un-churched or need additional ministry that attends a Church. I prefer however to leave this up to my ministry team. It is my belief that God has established Fathers, Mothers, Sons and Daughters in the church for the work of ministry. Thus, leaving me to fulfill my highest call, which is intimacy with the Father to abide in God and His love. Equipping ministry teams for ministry is the key to handle the stress of the ministry load that will come with the harvest.
It will take a regional people working together to form a regional network strong enough to contain the harvest. Thus, our ministry teams often consist of those from the region. As we work together combing gifts and mantles, the power of the Spirit with Kingdom authority is greatly magnified. We do not use the people to build up our ministry, but our ministry to build up the people of God.
Being non- territorial, we do not have a Church membership. Nor do we promote a “free for all” for we believe in divine order with oversight. Our main goal is to cultivate a spiritual atmosphere where Christ is revealed on earth as in heaven for “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Cor. 3:1).
As a prophetic ministry with the heartbeat of the Father, it is our passion to see all of the fivefold gifts of Christ (the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher) function in the Church (Eph. 4:11). Also to see all of the spiritual gifts and anointing of the people operate as God has set each one in the Church (1 Cor. 12). We are devoted to see the full restoration of worship with spontaneous expressions of the heart of the Father though the visual arts such as the praise dance. It is our joy to hear the sound of praise and the new song that ministers the Spirit in the midst of the congregation of the saints (See Psalms 149).
God is a relational God. We are at heart a very loving relational family. The heart of Eastgate Ministries is the Father’s heart with the Malachi 4:6 anointing to “ Turn the heart of the Fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to the their fathers.” God has entrusted us with the word of reconciliation that brings healing and restoration to the body of Christ. To see the family of the household of faith united together as one body in Christ –the unity that works by love (2 Cor. 5:19-20).
We are thus known to carry a strong anointing of the Father’s love with an impartation of the joy of the Lord. We are seeing from the place of His presence, lives transformed as well as ministries exploding. Like a rippling effecting of a wave, the ministry of the Lord to His people just keeps flowing and going. In this way, we are able to impact ministries, Churches and His people in a much broader area.
Destiny Eastgate Ministries – the source of our name.
In summary, our goal is to see His glory fill His house, which is His people, built up as a holy temple for a habitation for His Spirit (Ez. 44:4 & Eph. 2:22). Our name Destiny reflects fulfilling His ordained purpose – the hope of His calling (Eph. 1:18). Following Destiny is Eastgate; the Eastern side of the house filled with His glory from which rivers flow that waters the region (Ez. 47:1-9). This river I believe is the revelation of God’s love that will flow like a raging river. It will be His love that will touch nations with the light of His glory. Our call is to rise and shine!
This then is our ministry. It is our destiny to release rivers of living waters that come from the realm of heaven that flow through the Eastern gate of His house that brings new life upon the earth (Rev. 22:1-2).
