The Coming Glory – Messengers of Joy

Often when people first greet me they ask, “Hi Roy, how are you doing?”  The Holy Spirit most often takes the initiative to respond for me! Like old faithful a fountain of living water fills me to overflowing with His life-giving presence.  Because in His presence there is fullness of joy, (Ps. 15:11) I often burst out with waves of laughter. Whether it is on the phone, at home, at the Post Office or in ministry, the joy of the Lord overtakes me and suddenly, I begin to laugh joyfully! By this, God has taught me how to laugh freely that has brought me liberty (2 Cor. 3:17).

Those who know me will tell you, I have not always been this joyful. Over the years the Holy Spirit has impregnated waves of understanding, truth and revelation of the person of Jesus Christ that has left me completely undone. Many times waves of His love and joy has filled my entire being until I became saturated with His life giving presence. One day He said to me, “You now have a wreckers anointing. Those who are exposed to this ministry will be wrecked by My love and My joy! As many can testify, this has proven to be true!

The Wind of Change Brings Waves of Joy

His Joy  Recently my eye caught the title of a prophetic word by Dr. Theresa Phillips, posted on the Elijah list called The Wind Has Changed  Get Ready For A Wave of Glory!  This wave of Glory will release fun to the Church with the exhortation, “Just learn to laugh and watch the enemy flee!” Here is an excerpt from the article by Theresa Phillips,

Get ready for a wave of glory. This new WAVE of glory will be released to excite people once again… I’m going to have some fun with you as well. I am about to turn the mourning into dancing. Have you got taps shoes, soft dance shoes, or ballet shoes?” “No, Lord, I can’t dance,” I said.

YOU WILL,” He said, “for this is going to be a dance party. Worship will move the congregation to dance. Yes, dancing in the Church… Now, be strong and of good courage. “Do not be afraid. Stand and see the salvation of the LORD! For I am going to release FUN to the Church! And you will feel the wind! Just learn to laugh, and watch the enemy flee!” (Photo by Jennifer Page “His Joy” via elijahshopper.com)

I began to giggle, and then I began to sing, “I Love To Laugh.” Enjoy this YouTube video, “I Love To Laugh” from Mary Poppins. Laughter is catchy!

If you watched the above “I love to Laugh” you will notice the joy of laughter causes you to become as light as a feather! His joy frees your spirit to rise to new heights to soar above the confines of the earth.

His joy doesn’t make one irresponsible or childish, for His joy renews our inner man with His life giving presence that makes our heart merry and our countenance glad (Prov. 15:13). His joy truly is our strength. With the coming waves of God’s glory, an infilling is coming that will release an overflow of joy from within.

Messengers of Joy

As a prophetic minister, I know all that God does has a direction with purpose. The joy of laughter revealed through His manifest Sons and daughters conveys the message “He takes great pleasure in His people (Ps. 149:4). We are in essence messengers of the Lord’s joy and it’s contagious. As the light of the world that carries the gift of His presence, His messengers of joy reveal that God is a good God who rejoices over us with joy and with singing,  “The Lord your God is in the midst of you is mighty: He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy, He will rest in His love, He will joy over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17).

Because it is “Christ is in you, the hope of Glory” (Col. 1:27) as we are filled with His Spirit we can expect a fountain of joy to erupt from our inner most being. These come “Like springs of living water” (Is. 58:11). Wherever the Spirit is, there is fullness of joy for the Kingdom of God is righteous, peace and joy IN the Spirit (Ro.14:17). I never consider going anywhere unless I sense His presence is with me, “For you shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace” (Is. 55:12).  His joy and peace is my barometer of how close I am walking with God, and the direction He is leading me.

Shine With the Light of His Joy

The result of this overflow from within is the light of His glory that shines upon the face of His people.  His joy causes our face to shine as a beaming light. Listen to the words of King David,  “Blessed are the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord in the light of your countenance” (Psalms 89:15)

The Spirit of joy that floods our innermost being causes our face to shine with the light of His countenance. Like a cool breeze flowing through my soul, His presence increases until His breath is released through me. The sound of joy is my sprit ignited by His presence that rises with wings upon the wind of the Spirit. It is this infilling of His Spirit that enables His people to rise and shine with the light of His glory. (Is 60:1-3) This is the joy that comes from intimate fellowship with the Father that the early Church knew. As the apostle John declared,

That which we have seen and heard we declare to you that you may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write unto you, that your joy may be full (1 John 1:3-4).

We are temples for the living God. “As God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (2 Cor. 6:16).  God is a Spirit who loves to walk in the spirit of our mind, our heart, body and soul. Within us His Spirit shines as the sun that radiates the warmth of His light for “In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun” (Ps. 19:4). Thus, all that He is can be revealed in you and through you that reveals the light of His glory.

The Holy Spirit as the Spirit of Truth, opens the Scripture to reveal the person of Christ to us that we may shine on!. Simply quoting scriptures does not impart to us this spiritual reality as the Scripture themselves point to Him. That which the Holy Spirit reveals leads us to His presence that we may have an encounter with Him. His passion is that we EXPERINCE HIM that we may KNOW HIM.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts to give to us the light of the knowledge of God in the face of Jesus (2 Cor. 4:6).

The pathway to being filled with God’s light that brings fullness of joy comes as we behold the face of Jesus. As we behold Him we are changed into the very same image and likeness. (2 Cor. 3:18 & 4:6) All that He reveals to you is how He created you to be. To see Him is to see you – the image of His likeness, which is your true identity.  King David knew this pathway that said,

“You will show me the path of life: in your presence there is fullness of joy: at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psalms 16:11).

Because Christ is the resurrection and the life, whenever He is revealed to us, His life is imparted to us. This is what fills our inner most being with the light of His life. It is from the place of having our life In the Spirit, that we know the joy of His fellowship. It is this joy that comes from our fellowship with Him that promotes life-giving relationships one with one another (1 John 1:3-5).

It is God’s good pleasure that you may know the riches of the glory of Christ and His Kingdom that is in you! We have not only received the gift of salvation but the source of eternal life that is found in the person of Jesus Christ. He is our gift and our inheritance and thus as the apostle Paul prayed, “May the Lord enlighten the eyes of your heart in the knowledge of Him… that you may know the riches of the glory of His inheritance that is in the saints” (Eph. 1:17-18).

It is the purpose of the Holy Spirit to enlighten our eyes in the Knowledge of Him who has called us to glory that we may be partakers of His divine nature (See 2 Peter 1:3-4). We are created in His image to be as He is, full of life, light and love as well as to reveal His authority, power, wisdom and understanding. He is our inheritance and He dwells in you and I that our joy may be full!

As always, the call is to  “Rise and Shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you” (Is. 60:1)
