The Call to Build as Repairers of the Breach

Breach repairersl 2

The Holy Spirit grieves over the present state of the Church. Especially for the wounded, the oppressed and the fallen. Many Churches once in revival have closed their doors. Believing the power of the Church has regressed; many are expressing their hunger for the things of God. Due to a lack of freedom, Christians disengage from operating in their gifts that empowers them to fulfill their ordained purpose. It is reported that millions of Christians across this nation no longer attend church.

Without the Spirit of the Lord released in our midst, the anointing and gifts of the Spirit are quenched. This grieves the Holy Spirit (Eph.4:30). The Holy Spirits desire is that we follow His leading and release the anointing. When the word “quench” is used in scripture, it means to suppress the fire! The Holy Spirit is a fire dwelling in each believer, which is the light of God’s living presence. His desire is to express Himself in our actions and attitudes as well as through the anointing for the work of ministry. Anything less suppresses or “quenches” the Spirit. This is why the apostle Paul gave the command, “Quench not the Spirit” (1 Th. 5:19).

A fresh baptism of fire is here to set the captives free where the religious spirit and other spirits have kept the people locked up. A remnant is being pulled into another direction and dimension. Being free from selfish ambition and the need for control, they have learned from their mistakes that have left them with an addiction for His presence. Having laid down their lives for the gospel, they have captured the eye of the King. Being free from the accuser of the brethren, their heart is to see restoration, redemption and renewal take place in the body of Christ. These are the ones God calls “REPAIRERS OF THE BREACH,”

“And they shall build the old waste places: and shall raise up the foundations of many generations, and you shall be called “The repairers of the breach, the restorers of the paths to dwell in (Is. 58:12-13, 1 Cor. 5:12).

The Building / Equipping Model of Jesus

Jesus did not come to destroy but to restore and redeem. He called His 12 disciples to BE WITH HIM. Building upon their relationship Jesus discipled them in the ways of the Kingdom and empowered them to do the works that He did (Acts 1:1). Before His ascension, Jesus gave them the commission to go in the power of the Spirit teaching ALL NATIONS to do the same (Mt. 28:19-20). We too are commissioned to go and do the works that reveals the redemption power of Jesus.

With the promise that we would do greater works, Jesus ceiling is to be the floor of the next generation that would keep a move of the Spirit moving. Jesus did not give the command, “Come ye to Church” but “Go ye” in the power of the Spirit. His passion was not to build up a congregation, or to build up an organization, but His bride- the people of God. A breach being restored today is the gap between those who follow a format to that of abiding in their Shepherded, Jesus. A people that creatively reveal Christ and His Kingdom “on earth” as in heaven.

Time To Rise Up and Build

We are now in the season where it is the time to build (Ec. 3:3). Nehemiah is a prototype of a New Testament apostle who, as a wise master builder, repaired the burnt gates and fallen walls of Jerusalem. When He said to the remnant in Jerusalem, “You see the distress we are in and how Jerusalem lies in waste and the gates are burnt with fire. Come and let us build up the walls of Jerusalem…and they said, “Let us rise up and build” (Neh. 2:17 -18).

Nehemiah didn’t have to convince the people to rise up and build. The oppression of the people and the condition of their beloved city weighed heavily on their soul. It was thus in their heart to redeem what the enemy had destroyed and raise the city up to its former glory. This too is the heart of God and the heartbeat that propels His people to move forward as agents of change. They are ready to echo back the response with one voice proclaiming, “Let us rise up and build.”

Many today have it in their heart to build – to build up the people of God in love. As repairers of the breach, just hearing the word “build” attracts builders. Many are waiting to fulfill their ordained purpose. If we build according to the blueprints of heaven, they will come!

Because God is a relational God, we are to build relationships. The most powerful ministries and the abundant Christian life arise from strong relationships. Building begins with unlocking the Kingdom of Heaven within God’s people. Building takes place as Mothers and Fathers of the faith raise up sons and daughters. To build is to form relationships where trust, communication and understating are established through bonds of love. To build is to restore the true identity of His people and equip them to function as each one is called in Christ. The Church consists of the people of God–a holy temple in the Lord that reveals the light of His glory.

In whom all the building is fitly framed together grows up to become a holy temple in the Lord. In whom you also are being built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit (Eph. 2:21-22).

A People of Influence

As restorers of the breach, those entrusted with the Word of Reconciliation        (1 Cor. 5:19) are given the authority of Jeremiah …”To root out, and to pull down and to destroy, and to throw down and to build and to plant (Jer. 1:11). Those with the Father’s Heart abiding in His love obedient to fulfill His purpose, are being given the kind of influence that can change a region for God’s love never fails!

A company of champions are emerging that will stand and speak with authority as Elijah did. Graced with the Elijah anointing, their passion is to see healing and restoration take place in the body of Christ. As noted in Malachi 4:6, “And He shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers.” This is a multi -generational anointing that restores the members of the household of faith to become a healthy unified family. Love is the key to change.

Changing Times Requires Change

In these times of change we need a multifaceted style of leading. The old will no longer work. We cannot walk in the new doing the same things the old way. As the people grow in Christ, so will the way we lead, especially if we want to see their development. If we desire to grow in Christ we cannot bottleneck the Church or confined the leadership. We must establish all the ministry gifts of Christ the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher in order build a fully alive and dynamic apostolic /prophetic church – the way Church life is meant to be.

The purpose of the five fold is to reveal Christ to His people in the way He has gifted and called each one. Within this multifaceted ministry, lies the ability to recognize the gifting of others. In turn they provide the means to establish believers in their true identity as a new creation, and equip them for the work of ministry. (Eph. 4:11) For instance, a Prophet is to equip others to function in their prophetic gift. Likewise, those called as a Shepherd recognize Christ the shepherd in God’s people and build them up to minister the Shepherd’s heart’s to others. In this way, a Church can be prepared for the coming harvest when all are needed.

The apostle Paul built as a wise masterbuilder to see Christ formed in His people “For it is Christ in you the hope of Glory” (Col. 1:27). It’s time to rebuild that which the enemy has torn down as repairers of the breach for “We are laborers together with God” (1 Cor. 3:9-10). As the people are built up in Christ, they will be the vehicle that brings healing and restoration to one another. This will cause the Church, the members of His body to increase itself with the life of the Spirit.

From whom the body is fitly joined together establishes a pathway to supply the needs according to the effectual working of the measure of every part, makes the body of Christ to increase unto the edifying of itself in love (Eph. 4:16).

In order to build properly, we need to transition from a Church mindset to that of a Kingdom mindset. With a change of perspective comes a change in the way we build. It’s time to build up the Church, which consists of a spiritual body- the people of God. Together as one, as we each do our part, Jesus will bring together in Him a living and dynamic people that rise and shine with the light of His glory. The harvest is here and it consists of unemployed builders! Lets gather those who respond to the call to rise up and build as “Restorers of the breach, the restorers of paths to dwell in” (Is. 58:12-13). And “As One,” restore the inheritance that is ours in Christ that the adversary has stolen. Perhaps you have heard the call?

As always, “Rise and Shine for your light has” (Is. 60:1)
