Northeast MorningStar “Lions Roar” Conference
April 28th-30th, 2011, Held in Owego New York at Abide in the Vine Church
The following are some of the main points I gleaned from the April 28th-30th Lions Roar Prophetic Conference held at Abide in the Vine Fellowship in Owego New York. The guest speakers were Rick Joyner, Tom and Mary Anne Hardiman and Pastor Herb Hoover. Also included are some tidbits gleaned from the Conference Round table. Abide in the Vine Fellowship is a MorningStar Fellowship church led by pastors Herb and Donna Hoover. These messages were recorded and available in MP3 format that you can download from their website located at www.abide.org
The River is Rising
New York has been experiencing a lot of rain. The river is not only rising in this area, but the living waters of the Holy Spirit are rising within His people.
A common thread reported throughout the youth round tables conducted in the past weeks by Nathan Scott is that of a waterfall. (Waterfalls represent an outpouring of God’s glory) A movement will begin by those who know who they are and walk in their true identities. As we know what the Father is saying over us and who He is in us, we will walk with confidence in the way that Christ has ordained for us.
As we stand in the place of our identity, we will not be intimated by others but empowered to stand side by side bonded together in the spirit of unity. As we move forward in our true identity, it will release living waters so that together as one, the combined flow will merge to become a rushing river – the outpouring of the Spirt.
Built for Battle
God has designated ground that we are to take and hold. We are to earnestly content for the faith to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. We are built for battle. The war that we are in is designed to bring out the warrior nature in us “Now thanks be unto God which always causes us to triumph in Christ that makes us to reveal the manifest sweet presence of His knowledge by us in every place “ (2 Cor. 2:14).
In the midst of what you are going through, the Lion of Judah within you with the warrior like nature will rise to empower you with the victory for “It is finished” by Christ at Calvary.
Roy’s comment – One of my favorite scriptures is Isaiah 42:13- “The Lord will go forth like a warrior; He will arouse His zeal like a man of war. He will utter a shout, yes; He will raise a war cry. He will prevail against His enemies.”
One of the MorningStar youths shared a vision where she saw the church as the warrior bride riding on a Lion through the desert. The Lion (Represents Christ the Lion of Judah) came to the Valley of dry bones. The Lion gave a fierce roar and the dry bones of the valley responded. This speaks of the authority of the bride of Christ riding on the Lion King with the spirit of a warrior to “roar” into the earth with the authority to prophesy to the dry bones as agents of change that will cause a shift in the region.
Bob Jones gave a word last year that the Lord is roaring into the earth. I have seen a vision of Christ as a Lion many times since last September and have heard the roar of the Lion on numerous occasions. This roar of the Lion of Christ breaks strongholds in our lives and imparts the courage of Christ the Lion, as King of King and Lord of Lords, to prevail as victorious overcomers. (I believe this is the spirit of might that strengthens the inner man that Paul speaks of in Ephesians 3:16)
The Year of the Roaring Lion
As you notice the name of tis conference is called the “Lions Roar” conference. Below is a short video of Bob Jones who gave a prophetic word that this is “The Year of the Roaring Lion.”
An Epidemic Of Offense
There is presently an epidemic of offenses that exist in the body of Christ. Paul exhorts us in 1 Cor. that we are all to speak the same thing without division that we may be perfectly joined together in Christ. (1 Cor. 1:10) The apostle Paul also states that God allows divisions to take place “that they which are approved may be revealed among you” (See 1 Cor. 18-19). In other words, it is in the heat of the battle, in the midst of our trials and differences that reveals what lies in our heart that we may need to deal with.
Jesus tells us that in the last days many shall become offended and the love of many shall wax cold. (Mt. 24:5-13). There are 9.5 million Christians in America that do not attend Church due to offenses that God wants to restore back to fellowship.
Dealing with offenses is part of the challenge that God has ordained so that we can grow by them and become overcomers. The scriptures tell us to “Keep your heart with all diligence: for out of it are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). Sometimes we are faced with the test of Jonah. Jonah would not go to Nineveh to minister the word of the Lord to them. He knew that if they repented, he would be declared a false prophet and they would not receive the judgment of God he felt they deserved that he had prophesied to them. It was his personal response to them that hardened his heart against them.
That is until the Lord dealt with him by casting him overboard at sea where he was in the belly of a whale for three days before he repented. Are we willing to let go of our issues to obey the Lord in the spirit of humility, forgiveness and love? Or do we prefer to harbor resentment that hardens our heart that miss-represents Gods heart for them.
The only relationship that will endure through the days ahead will be those that have established a “heart to heart” connection. It is the spirit in you that bonds with the spirit in me that binds us together in unity.
It is critical that we emphasize building and strengthen relationships. In the midst of calamities, if we should fall, there will be those that will be there to help raise us up again. The call is to deepen and develop relationships that we can lean upon in the days ahead. If one can put a thousand to flight, two can put ten thousand.
The Current Realignment of Relationships
Like a chess board, people are being relationally repositioned for the time ahead. God is pulling up the root system of relationships to replant them in new relationships. (This may involve a geographical change, a change in personal relationships, employment, the tribe or church that we belong too, etc.)
God has been re-aligning relationships so that we can know who we can lean on in the time of heat. This is revealed to us in the midst of the trials and battle that we face. It is by going through the heat of the battle and fire that proves whether or not the relationships that we have developed will stand – this is part of the tempering process. (Steel is brittle and breaks easily until it is forged in the fire where it becomes flexible.)
The components of a strong relationship are clear communication, loyalty, love, devotion, dedication and trustworthiness. Proper relationships consist of those who know when to show up in time of need with the right word for the right reason.
We need to position ourselves with the divine alignments that God has ordained for us. (Paul could not advance in his ministry until he linked up with Barnabus). There is presently taking place a reconnecting with like minded people who have the same vision that will launch you into your promotion for the next season.
We must know the tribe that we belong to and allow the Lord to perfect us by the things that we are faced with. It takes time, energy and commitment to disconnect from old relationships to form new dependable ones.
Roy’s Comments– God is a strategic God and intentional. This year is not only a year of change but we are moving into more clarity about our destiny and purpose. God has been re visiting our vision and shifting our assignments. Our time of waiting is over. NOW IS THE TIME TO TAKE ACTION. Just do it!
In the last days, God is going to restore the Tabernacle of David. (Amos 9:11) Those who followed David and stood with him during the time of his trials when Saul was persecuting him, was the same band of warriors that David promoted to rule with him when he became King of Judah. These are the warriors of David’s band that knew how to be a part of an army that fought side by side that saw “eye to eye.”
(Roy’s comment– Like David, many will join themselves to a winner but few will attach themselves to what others consider to be a looser and take the heat for it. There is a Davidic company of warriors emerging that will soon be promoted with the authority to rule with dominion in the presence of their enemies).
It is in the midst of battles that people bond together. David’s band was strong and known as mighty men with courage, valor and honor that were committed to one another. They ran to the sound of battle because their DNA was that of a warrior.
The Lord is a marital God who is forming an army. Like Israel that came out of Egypt as an unorganized mob, they entered into the Promise Land as an organized disciplined army that formed 12 distinct tribes. Likewise, people are being drawn to the tribe that they belong too. Once the Church members come into their proper place, the Church will rise as a mighty army with the Spirit of the Lord resting upon them. God is now mobilizing an army with Christ in their midst as the Lord of Hosts.
But above all, we must be spiritually prepared for the days ahead by having a close relationship with our heavenly Father as sons of God.
Walk in Your True Identify with Kingdom Authority
Tom Hardiman spoke of a visit by an angel that gave him the message that God was restoring the identity of His people that has been stolen. The angel has come to “awaken” God’s people to who they really are. Tom stated that some people will receive a visit from this angel that will awaken them to their destiny and true identify.
When we get our identity from our Father, we know who we are and how to posture ourselves and walk as sons of God.
In the Disney movie, The Lion King, Simba was the son of the Lion King with the inheritance to rule on the throne of his father. Simba’s father died in an accident that was a planned by his brother Scar, who deceived Simba to believe that the accident was his fault. Simba, faced with guilt and shame, went into despair and hiding which enabled his uncle Scar to posses the throne.
One day Sumba’s father appeared to him in a vision from heaven who spoke to him of his true nature and image. Looking into a pool of water, Simba saw a mirror image of his father’s face imposed upon his that reflected who he really was. Likewise, God wants us to see the reflection of who we are created to be in Him. (See 2 Cor. 3:17-18)
This was the image and likeness that was Simbas true identity. Seeing the face of His father upon His own assured Simba that the nature of his Father was in him. Empowered by this truth that broke the deception of a false image imprinted upon him by his perceived past failures and mistakes, he returned back to his home land. Here Simba took his rightful place on the throne where he “roared” from the high place on the same rock where his Father often roared.
His roar proclaimed in the earth that He was the rightful heir with the authority to rule. It was this roar and being repositioned in his true identity that brought life back into the land. Such is the power of restoration that God is doing in His sons and daughters as they walk in their true nature that is created in the image and likeness of their heavenly Father to rule as a joint heir with Jesus.
IT IS TIME: The following are three clips of the Lion King that illustrates this.
You are your Father’s Son and He lives in you!
2 Cor. 6:16 & 18: And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God: as God has said, I will dwell in them and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. (18) And I will be a Father unto you and you shall be My sons and daughters says the Lord Almighty.
John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God.
Colossians 1:12-13: Giving thanks unto the Father, who has made us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. Who has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son.
1 Peter 2:9: But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people: that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into marvelous light.
Colossians 1:27:…” Which is Christ in you the hope of Glory
Awakening Your True Identity
Our heavenly Father is revealing to His people who they really are -created His image with an ordained destiny and purpose. This awakening may come through the daily gradual working of the Holy Spirit, an angelic visitation, or a prophetic revelation such as a vision or dream. A Biblical account of God awakening the identity of His people, is when the angel of the Lord came to Gideon. Gideon was hiding from his enemies threshing wheat behind the wine press when the angel came to him. It was the words of the angle who declared “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor” (Judges 6:12) that spoke to his true identity as a warrior that brought him out from where he was, to position him where he should be. With this awakening came the renewed faith that God has a covenant with His people and that He is faithful. It was this awakening of his true purpose and identity that launched him forward to fulfill his manifest destiny to become the deliver of God’s people.
Just as the angel spoke to Gideon to call forth his true nature, the angel of the Lord is now visiting God’s people to awaken their true destiny and purpose. Some of these people like Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel, and Abram, whose name was changed to Abraham, will experience a name change that speaks of their ordained purpose and destiny.
The Lord is now restoring those who are called to become delivers of God’s people. Moses as a young man had a sense of destiny, but due to immaturity and presumption, tried to carry it out in his own strength when he killed an Egyptian. And like Moses, many have made mistakes that caused them to go into the wilderness where their true identity has been eclipsed by the veil of their past failures, shortcomings and mistakes.
This is not who they really are but how they perceive themselves. The grace has been released to restore their true identity as a new creation to fulfill their ordained destiny. The wilderness journey was meant to perfect us until we are able to come out of the desert leaning upon Christ bosom.
The Lions roar that many are now hearing is breaking off the false identity and the strongholds of fear, insecurity and rejection with the confidence of how Christ sees them. We are not to be defined by our past but who we are in Christ in the present.
As noted earlier and expounded here even further, the enemy has come to rob, steal and destroy and through his deception, has caused many to define themselves by their faults, past mistakes and errors. God is reversing this by speaking to His own, even calling them by name, to reveal their true identity, which is to rule with Christ as sons of God ordained of the Royal Priesthood. (1 Pe. 2:9).
The strategy of Satan is to wear out the saints of the most high and steal away their Godly confidence. Like ocean waves that continually beat upon the surface of a shore, the enemy pounds away at us over time to slowly erode the face of who we are. If he can undermine the foundation of our faith, over time the structure that if supports will collapse due to a weaken foundation. Satan does this by eroding our faith, hope, and confidence. It is over time that the wear and tear of the life of many Christians causes them to become weary and faint of heart. The apostle Paul tells us not to be weary in well doing for we will reap in time if we do not faint.
It is these ongoing issues that change our personality over time as evident by the way that we view things and respond to others. Thus, who we really are is hidden beneath the crusty layers that we perceive is our true nature, when in reality it is not who we are. It is by going into the desert as Moses did that over time the Lord is able to remove the veils in order to expose the issues that God wants to heal.
Many that have a call have been branded like David by their peers as being disqualified or too radical to be used by God. Or because of their shame, an imprint has been branded in their soul that keeps them from seeing who they really are.
God often allows your reputation; accusations and rejection to take place so that He can refashion you again. God allows our weaknesses to come out so that we can deal with them. God in His power can prevent many things from happening, but in His wisdom He allows these trials to become the grace that molds us into His image– especially that of love and forgiveness.
The Lord is performing operations like a skilled surgeon to repair hearts. From the place of our healing we can minister the Spirit with Kingdom authority that bears His image. Do not allow the enemy to define your identity but the moment of your failure, trauma or loss. And likewise by your success, wealth and social status that gives you a false identity based on your success rather on your true being. Christ came to give us abundant life that flows from our inner most being. When we know who we are and are at rest in our identity, our soul is filled with the love, joy and peace of God.
Roy’s Comment – It is by being that defines who we are not what we do. It is from our being that we do. Our highest call is to abide in His love where we receive our true identify from the fellowship that we have with our heavenly Father. We are light because He is light. We are love because God is love. As He is in heaven so are we on this earth. (See 1 John 3:16-17) We are because He is. I am because He is. Because God is the “I am” who lives in me I am also. Because we are created in His image and likeness, our call is to be as He is. Many try to imitate him but we were created to be changed into the same image bearing the same light, love and life that He is.
The Barometer of Growth
Christ came that we may have the peace, love and joy that is ours in Christ. “For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink: but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17). A barometer that indicates how close we are walking with God is by the peace of God that rules in our heart. Are we filled with his peace and joy? Or are we filled with concerns and anxiety which takes us away from His presence?
Is the path we are on leading to more of His presence? For the light of God comes in the presence of Christ, for He is the light of heaven.
It is the presence of the Lord that is the light that we are to rise and shine with for our light has come and His glory has risen. (Is. 60:1) When Jesus said to let your light shine, He was not saying to let your good deeds be known, but to let the glory of the Lord that rest upon you become evident by the ministry of the Spirit that touches the lives of those around you. We are agents of change because He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world.
A question that we may ask ourselves “Is the light that we are walking in increasing daily? Is the love of God increasing in our hearts for one another? Are we seeing Jesus more clearly as we draw closer to Him? The scriptures tells us that the walk of the Christian is like that of the Sun, the light of God’s rises continually until we shine with the brightness of His glory “ But the path of the just is as the shinning light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day (Pr. 4:18).
The Call to Rally
We are living in the time to save men’s souls. Our identity is not only established by who we are created by God in His image, but by our roots and natural heritage. Because America has basically told the Lord to get out of this nation, there is a cry for the people to rally again as one to save America. The roots of America are founded by Christian men who fought for the freedom for Americans to serve God as a Christian nation.
God is now shaking things up so that He can save us. We must put aside our differences, doctrines of debate and prejudices to rise together as a glorious church to restore our natural heritage as one nation under God. We need to raise our voice as one in order to have a voice. In order for us to have an effective voice, the prophetic needs to be married to the ministry of intercession.
It’s Harvest Time
The main thing that is going to unfold is the Harvest. It’s harvest time. It’s time to let the dead bury the dead to move on into our ordained purpose and call. There are many that want your time but do not want to change as they only want your attention.
A reset is coming that is going to get us back onto the right foundation. The day of wasteful consumption is over.
It has been proven that the happiest relationships do not come from prosperity but our relationship with God and with one another.
Carnal people respond to carnal authority. There are many that promote themselves through marketing techniques and self promotion. It’s not about rank but true spiritual authority. It’s not about our ministry but about the Lord and His Kingdom. We are called to build His Kingdom not our ministry.
The Four Purposes of Mankind Ordained by God – Genesis 1:26-28
- 1. Fellowship with God – to love the Lord and one another
- 2. Cultivate the Garden – to tend to the Garden that we have been given
- 3. Bear fruit and multiply – To bear eternal fruit and reproduce our talents in others
- 4. To rule with dominion in the presence of our enemies
